Construction within the Long Term Coastal Protection Scheme has now transitioned back to the Anne Avenue groyne at the end of Laura Road. This will be followed by the construction of the fourth groyne at Peter Crescent.

The River Mouth Groyne has been completed and is fully operational, already contributing to the stabilisation of the adjacent coastline. In addition, the Diagonal Groyne is now fully functional, reinforcing the broader system designed to manage sediment movement and protect vulnerable sections of our shoreline.

With these key structures in place, attention has shifted to the Anne Avenue groyne. Construction is progressing steadily, with completion scheduled for the final week of May.

This phased approach continues to build momentum within the scheme, with each completed groyne enhancing the overall effectiveness of the coastal protection scheme.
