Ten Excellent Reasons to Join the SFPO

Why You Should Join the St Francis Property Owners Association

For less than R2 a day, you can help shape the future of St Francis Bay. R600 per year. R375 for pensioners. More members. More influence. Stronger outcomes.

St Francis Bay is growing and evolving, with major coastal work underway and continued investment across the village. A strong town needs a strong, unified voice. The St Francis Property Owners Association (SFPO) represents that voice, and membership strengthens it.

1. Join to Strengthen Service Delivery

Your membership adds weight when engaging Kouga Municipality on water, roads, sewerage, refuse and electricity. Collective participation drives better outcomes.

2. Join to Protect Property Value

Planning decisions shape the village’s future. The SFPO monitors development and zoning to support long-term value and sensible growth.

3. Join to Preserve the Character of St Francis Bay

St Francis Bay has a distinctive coastal identity. The SFPO, working with the Aesthetics Committee, aims to maintain a high standard of planning, design, and compliance, ensuring the town remains cohesive, well-managed, and aligned with its surroundings.

4. Join to Support Community Safety

The SFPO connects CCTV monitoring, SAPS, neighbourhood watch groups and private security into a more effective, coordinated network.

5. Join to Support Coastal Protection Progress

The Long Term Coastal Protection Solution is delivering. The Rivermouth Groyne is complete, and the Diagonal Groyne is nearly complete. Anne Avenue Groyne is advancing well and a 4th Groyne is in the plans. These groynes, along with sand dredging from the Kromme system, are effectively rebuilding the section of beach along the spit. Membership supports momentum on one of the town’s most important infrastructure projects.

6. Join to Help Protect the River and Canal Systems

The Kromme River and canal network are central to daily life and property value. The SFPO works with key stakeholders to keep these systems functional and protected.

7. Join to Influence Critical Decisions

Energy, telecoms, environmental policy, and infrastructure planning all shape the town. The SFPO engages early to represent community interests.

8. Join to Stay Properly Informed

Members receive clear, relevant updates through meetings, newsletters and digital channels. Good information supports better decisions.

9. Join to Support Environmental Work

Through partnerships with organisations such as the Kromme Enviro-Trust, the SFPO contributes to conservation, recycling, and long-term sustainability.

10. Join to Strengthen Disaster Response

The SFPO works alongside the Disaster Volunteer Group to support coordinated responses to fires, flooding, and other local emergencies.

Join and Add Your Voice

The SFPO is active, structured and delivering results. More members strengthen representation and accelerate progress. Join. Stay informed. Help shape the future of St Francis Bay.
