Concrete Kerb Street Signs Project a Great Success
The street name rollout project, which involved the installation of custom-made precast concrete street kerbs, has been a resounding success and very well received by the community. Each kerbstone is 1200mm long and features the embossed street name and the Association logo, making it both functional and visually appealing. This initiative has enhanced our roads’ aesthetic and improved wayfinding for residents and visitors alike. The first phase of the project received enthusiastic support, and as a result, there is now a follow-up order with SanStone for more of these high-quality kerbstones. These additional kerbstones are expected to be delivered and placed in the near future.
Special thanks must go to Chris Gray, the Vice Chairman of the SFPO Association, who took the lead on this project and ensured its smooth execution from start to finish. His dedication and attention to detail have contributed to the overall success of this initiative.

Coral Trees Beautifying St Francis Drive
In another positive development for our community, Johan Joubert and Clint Carstens have taken the initiative to plant a number of Coral trees along St Francis Drive, specifically opposite Harbour Road. Their goal is to enhance the natural beauty of this area while adding some much-needed greenery. The Coral trees, known for their bright blossoms and resilience, are growing well and beginning to establish themselves.

An example of some coral trees
There are five coral trees in place, and the intention is to have 35 trees lining this stretch of road eventually. If anyone in the community has Coral tree cuttings they are not using, please consider contacting the SFPO. We would happily collect them and ensure they are planted as part of this beautification effort.
The Coral Tree is It is not just a decorative tree, it also provides food for a whole host of animals. The tree flowers in winter when animals need food the most.
New Pedestrian Walkway in St Francis Bay
We are pleased to announce that a new pedestrian walkway is set to be constructed in St Francis Bay. The initial phase of this project will extend from Grand Comoros to Lyme Road South. This will offer safer and more pleasant walking conditions for pedestrians. Following the completion of this phase, a second stretch of walkway is planned, which will run from Nevil Road to Main Beach. These additions will connect key community areas more effectively.
Paving of 6th Avenue Industrial Area
The paving project for 6th Avenue in the industrial area has been officially approved. This upgrade will be funded by the local businesses situated along the avenue. Heavy rains have rendered the road nearly impassable in the past, significantly impacting those trying to operate and access businesses in the area. As part of the project, the final section of the road—leading to Sea Vista Primary School—will be paved using funds from the Kouga Local Municipality, ensuring safe access for school goers as well.
