Round Head

At the head of the groyne, a large circular structure known as the “round-head” will be built to strengthen the overall design. Construction of this feature will take approximately one week.

Once the round-head is complete, the service road running along the groyne will be layered with rock. This final stage is expected to take another week. The 1st Groyne should therefore be fully completed by the end of November.

Dredging and sand-pumping will begin on 27 November.

Work on the 2nd Groyne, as indicated in the Order of Construction Map (below), is scheduled to begin on 1 December 2025.
