Dredging Pipes in Ski Canal

630 meters of dredging pipes have been positioned in Ski Canal, with more to follow. These pipes form part of the broader dredging system, designed to shift sand from the Sand River Delta and other identified buildups, with deposition planned for the main beach and other designated areas.

These pipes will now be moved overland and installed from the end of Ski Canal towards Main Beach. The installation is a delicate and highly technical operation, requiring precision placing. 

Boaters and all canal users are urged to exercise heightened caution while navigating Ski Canal over the coming days. This phase marks a significant step in the ongoing coastal protection efforts.
