Newsflash From St Francis Property Owners NPC (SRA) – Dredging Pipes Are Being Moved Into Place Along The Ocean Front

Dredging Pipes Are Being Moved

27 August 2025

As part of the Long Term Coastal Protection Scheme, dredging pipes will be placed along the ocean front in St Francis Bay, from the Kromme River mouth to Main Beach, as agreed to and approved by the project’s Environmental Control Officer.

This piping will have intermittent flange connections every 45 meters that can be opened. These will enable the sand slurry, dredged from various identified nodes in the Kromme River, to be released as beach nourishment at multiple points along the beachfront.

The piping will be placed in front of oceanfront properties, following the most suitable route for such piping along the challenging terrain.
